The Athens-born, London-based electronic producer reworks the 2006 electro house classic through her connection to UK rave culture and punk aesthetics.
Leena Punks shares her remix of “Yeah Yeah” by Bodyrox ft. Luciana, the 2006 electro house classic that reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and topped the UK Dance Singles Chart. Born in Athens and now based in London, the electronic producer approaches the track through a personal connection to its instantly recognisable electro synths and Luciana’s punk-inflected vocal delivery. Her reinterpretation draws on the elements that define her own sound: melodic euphoria, electronic tension and a rhythm-driven approach built for the dancefloor. Growing up, Leena repeatedly returned to the original and its visual world, making the opportunity to remix it both meaningful and daunting. “Yeah Yeah” recalls an era when electro house was a defining presence in clubs, while the new version brings that influence into her evolving production style. As Leena explains, it remains one of her favourite tracks of the 2000s, with its distinctive synth riff and vocal attitude continuing to resonate years after its release.
Her musical foundations were shaped by her father’s vinyl collection, pirate radio, MTV and artists such as The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx, alongside UK rave, garage, house and trance. After moving to London in 2013, she studied electronic music production at Point Blank Music School, bringing her background in journalism, radio and social media into a project informed by fashion, film and visual culture. A significant breakthrough came with “On The Floor”, followed by BBC Radio support and Hottest Record recognition in July 2022. Since then, Leena has performed at international destinations and events including Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Dreamstate, Amnesia and Brooklyn Mirage. In January 2025, she also launched HESTĒA at E1 London, creating a platform for artists and peers across the electronic music community. Her remix of “Yeah Yeah” connects a formative musical influence with her own contemporary sound, bringing together the UK rave energy and rebellious attitude that continue to shape her artistic identity.
