Leah Cleaver Releases “SUNSHINE DAZE” and Announces BABY DON’T MOVE! EP

The East London artist captures the glow of late summer through a celebration of friendship, community, and Black queer love.

Following her exploration of queer Black love on “COUNTRY CLUB,” Leah Cleaver unveils “SUNSHINE DAZE,” a warm, soulful track built around the ease of late-summer connection. The East London artist casts the song in golden-hour hues, reflecting on the peace found in sharing sunlight with friends, being present with one another, and letting go of everyday pressure. “Sunshine Daze is completely what it says on the tin. It feels like sunshine in a bottle,” Leah explains, describing a feeling that can exist anywhere—from skyscraper cities to small towns—as long as there is company and sunlight to share. Alongside the single, she announces BABY DON’T MOVE!, her forthcoming EP due October 21, where cinematic soundscapes will frame life’s tender moments and bring a sense of scale to deeply personal experiences.

The EP is conceived as a love letter to the people surrounding Leah and to the memories that have shaped her understanding of self-love, Blackness, and queerness. It continues the expansive approach established on her 2025 debut EP Pushing Up Flowers, a six-track project that explored womanhood, friendship, self-determination, and sexual liberation through big beats, bass-driven production, and alternative pop. Leah’s evolving career has also included work with Fraser T. Smith at Abbey Road Studios and collaborations with Kae Tempest, including “Freedom! ‘25” and an acoustic version of Self Titled. With “SUNSHINE DAZE,” Cleaver reveals one of her most soulful sides while setting the emotional direction for a project focused on memory, community, and the joy found in the people who make life feel lighter
