The Glasgow indie-rock trio previews its debut album with an emotionally charged anthem filled with soaring guitars and unforgettable melodies.
Junior VP return with “Red Cardigan,” the latest preview of their forthcoming debut album Do You Feel The Same?, scheduled for release in 2027. Blending the emotional immediacy of early-2000s indie rock and emo with a fresh melodic approach, the Glasgow trio delivers a bittersweet song about the lingering memories of a first love that never completely fades. Dreamy guitar textures, driving rhythms, and an instantly memorable chorus come together to create a track that feels both nostalgic and timeless.
Formed in 2025, Junior VP brings together Ross Macintosh, Andy McLeod, and Steven Jack, whose reunion grew out of songs written during the pandemic after years of playing together in earlier bands. Recorded at Venice of the North Studios and mastered by Robin Sutherland, “Red Cardigan” reflects the band’s admiration for artists such as Jimmy Eat World, Death Cab for Cutie, and Turnover, while carving out a distinct identity built on heartfelt storytelling and expansive guitar-driven songwriting. As anticipation builds for their debut album, the new single highlights Junior VP’s ability to turn deeply personal memories into universally resonant indie anthems.
