The British electronic pioneer previews his upcoming album through a deeply personal collaboration with trumpeter Steve Waterman.
Dave Angel opens a new chapter with “Réflexion,” the lead single from A Time And Place, an album that reconnects the pioneering British producer with the musical influences that shaped him long before his groundbreaking contributions to electronic music. Featuring acclaimed trumpeter Steve Waterman, the track blends jazz improvisation, soulful textures, and sophisticated electronic production, offering an intimate introduction to a record inspired by family, heritage, nature, and personal reflection. The release also marks Angel’s return to R&S Records, the influential Belgian label that has been closely linked to his career for more than thirty years.
Scheduled for release on September 18, A Time And Place expands Angel’s sonic palette through collaborations with Robert Owens, Merv Carswell, Aurii Sky, and Steve Waterman, weaving together jazz, soul, and electronic music into a cohesive and expressive body of work. Drawing equally from his musical upbringing, the legacy of rave culture, and broader reflections on community and contemporary life, the album reveals one of the most personal statements of his career. With “Réflexion,” Dave Angel demonstrates that artistic evolution can remain deeply connected to the roots that first inspired it.
