Stinako – “Keep My Dreams” | Holding on to What We Can Still Imagine

Some experiences seem to disappear before we can find the words to describe them. In “Keep My Dreams”, Stinako begins with that feeling, exploring dreams as spaces of creative freedom where songs can be written, strangers encountered and entire landscapes crossed before morning arrives. The image of sand slipping through our fingers captures the fragility of a memory struggling to hold on to something extraordinary.

Featured on Visions of Future, her third full-length album, the song turns that nostalgia into a reflection on imagination and hope. For Stina Koistinen, keeping dreams alive is not simply about remembering what happens while we sleep, but about carrying that imaginative freedom into everyday life. What seems impossible to preserve can become a reason to envision a different future.

A composition bringing together different voices and textures

Meditative in character and unfolding gradually, “Keep My Dreams” belongs to an album built around Koistinen’s compositions and arrangements developed with Ville Kyttälä. The contribution of Njet Njet 9’s brass section and the Sibelius High School girls’ choir expands the project’s sonic world, bringing together different instrumental and vocal textures within a contemplative sensibility.

Dreaming as a form of resistance

The desire to preserve songs that emerge during sleep becomes a metaphor for protecting our imagination. Stinako turns this intimate experience into a collective aspiration: refusing to abandon the possibility of building a better world. “Keep My Dreams” suggests that imagining something different is also the first step towards keeping it alive as a possibility in waking life.
