“Need To Know” turns a question into a physical experience. The latest preview of Brendan Angelides’ new album Can You Feel The End Begin?, the track revolves around a simple phrase —“need to know what’s on your mind”— repeated until it stops feeling like ordinary curiosity. Curiosity becomes anxiety, anxiety becomes pressure, and the need for clarity eventually finds its expression through the body.
The song’s verbal economy allows the production to carry much of its narrative development. Angelides never provides an answer to the question he keeps repeating, and he does not need to. Each repetition takes on a different weight as the music progresses, turning uncertainty into an increasingly intense sensation. The track captures that moment when trying to understand what someone else is thinking stops being a rational search and starts becoming an obsession.
From bubbling techno to industrial impact
The track begins with a bubbling techno pulse that gradually gains density, pressure, and texture before reaching a more visceral, industrial climax. Moving through indietronica and IDM/glitch while remaining rooted in dance music, Angelides prioritizes transformation over ornamentation. The beat matters, but so does the way the sound design gradually reshapes the space around it.
A question with no answer
Repetition becomes the equivalent of a circular thought returning without resolution. The music follows the same logic: instead of offering an answer, it accumulates energy. “Need To Know” turns uncertainty into momentum, showing how an emotion that begins entirely in the mind can eventually become something felt directly through the body.
