The Santiago trio launches its first single, previewing a forthcoming debut album with melodic guitars, alternative rock influences, and a distinctive identity.
Hermanos de Balzac make their debut with “El Purista,” the first official single from the Santiago-based trio formed by Nicolás Orellana, David Bolvarán, and Jorge Barahona. Blending memorable guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and an understated sense of melancholy, the song introduces a band whose sound naturally draws from alternative rock influences such as Wilco, Smashing Pumpkins, and Pavement while carving out its own musical identity. The release serves as the first glimpse of a full-length album currently in development.
Alongside “El Purista,” the band also unveils “Demasiado Humano,” a reflective B-side that highlights a quieter and more introspective side of their songwriting. Both tracks were recorded at Estudio Andes Empire with Felipe Cadenasso and Antonio del Favero, mastered by Chalo González, and produced and written by the band themselves. With these first releases, Hermanos de Balzac lay the foundation for a promising new chapter within Chile’s independent rock scene.
