The Los Angeles shoegaze and dream pop artist’s previously unreleased song arrives alongside the launch of the Bella Angel Fund supporting women in crisis situations.

Three years after her passing, BelaBela’s artistic legacy enters a new chapter through the posthumous release of “Virgin Mary,” an unreleased song that highlights the emotional depth and creative vision of Bella Isabelle Catherine Jhun. Known for her immersive blend of shoegaze and alternative music, BelaBela created a body of work shaped by themes of vulnerability, spirituality, transformation, and feminine identity. Written and performed by the artist and co-produced with Sammie Pearson, “Virgin Mary” unfolds through haunting textures and introspective songwriting that reflect both strength and emotional honesty.

The release comes from a collection of recordings Bella carefully preserved before her death, later completed by family members and close collaborators committed to honoring her original artistic intentions. Alongside the song, her family has launched the Bella Angel Fund, a charitable initiative dedicated to providing emergency support for women facing abuse, domestic violence, trafficking, and other crisis situations. Through both her music and this new foundation, BelaBela’s legacy continues to inspire compassion, resilience, and hope.
