The bubblegum alternative metal trio blends crushing riffs and bold visuals in a new single centered on empowerment and self-determination.
Nova Riot continue unveiling the world of their upcoming debut album Blood, Lies & Lullabies with the release of “Midnight Coven Crush”, accompanied by a visually striking music video directed by frontwoman Nova Ray. The Durant, Oklahoma-based trio combines heavy alternative metal energy with infectious melodies and vivid aesthetics, using the song to explore themes of personal autonomy, empowerment, and resistance to social stigma. Through its symbolic narrative, the track transforms vulnerability into an unapologetic statement of strength.
Serving as the second visual chapter from Blood, Lies & Lullabies, set for release on August 21 via Eclipse Records, “Midnight Coven Crush” highlights the band’s distinctive approach to what they describe as bubblegum alternative metal. Balancing cinematic production, conceptual storytelling, and hard-hitting songwriting, Nova Riot continue to develop a sound that moves effortlessly between aggression and accessibility while establishing a unique identity within today’s heavy music landscape.
