Nova Riot return with “The Altar,” a dark and theatrical single that expands the ritualistic world surrounding their upcoming album Blood, Lies & Lullabies. Featuring The Bunny The Bear, the track fuses alternative metal, gothic atmospheres, and cinematic horror aesthetics into the band’s self-described “bubblegum alternative metal” identity.
Directed by Paris Pipkin and filmed inside a decommissioned church, the video for “The Altar” transforms the song into a fully immersive visual experience built around masks, haunting imagery, and themes of devotion, obsession, and inner transformation. Sonically, Nova Riot balance crushing heaviness with melodic intensity, while the vocal collaboration with The Bunny The Bear adds even more emotional weight and atmosphere to the release.
