Water serves as more than a symbol in “Water Prayer”—it shapes the entire listening experience. Emma Lucia and Jenny Gillespie Mason’s ambient project Ship Says Om create a composition that unfolds with the same fluidity and patience found in nature itself. As the first single from Djuphjärtad (“deep-hearted”), the track introduces a sonic world where emotion, environment and exploration blend seamlessly.
Rather than following a conventional narrative, the piece functions as a form of open-ended meditation. Atmospheric textures, organic sounds and a contemplative musical approach encourage listeners to slow down and engage with the present moment. Water becomes a metaphor for movement, transformation and connection, guiding the emotional flow of the composition.
Organic ambient music rich in detail and atmosphere
Field recordings, atmospheric synthesizers, acoustic guitar, piano and subtle percussion create a deeply immersive soundscape. Every element contributes to a sense of spaciousness and natural movement.
Warm vocals within a hypnotic sonic landscape
One of the song’s most compelling qualities is the way Emma Lucia’s voice blends with Ship Says Om’s immersive production. Her warm and expressive performance adds intimacy to the composition, while the surrounding atmosphere provides depth and emotional resonance. Together, these elements create a captivating listening experience that draws listeners deeper into its gentle and mesmerizing world.
