Sunken Cages – Kerala | Ritual electronics and hypnotic percussion

South Indian folk percussion, dense electronic textures, and hypnotic rhythmic structures turn “Kerala” into a deeply physical and spiritual experience. Sunken Cages, led by Ravish Momin, blends experimental electronics, improvisation, and Indian rhythmic traditions into an immersive sonic architecture that works equally as contemplative journey and bodily release. As an introduction to the upcoming album Neram Pularumbol (At Dawn), the track redefines how traditional percussion can merge with contemporary sound design while preserving its ritualistic and human essence.

Rather than following a linear narrative, “Kerala” unfolds through repetition, trance, and constant movement. The song transforms instruments rarely heard outside their traditional contexts into a futuristic and cinematic experience where rhythm, improvisation, and texture create an almost meditative connection between body and mind. Sunken Cages builds an innovative sonic language where cultural heritage and contemporary electronic exploration move together toward something deeply immersive.
