The French collective channels post-punk atmosphere and vintage soundtrack energy into an electrifying new single
PRISONER return with “La femme qui s’était faite toute seule,” a hypnotic new single that fuses garage psych, post-punk, and cinematic flair into something both stylish and explosive. Released via Wicked Cool Records, the track also previews the band’s upcoming self-titled album due August 7. Driven by surf-inspired guitars, pulsing rhythms, dramatic brass arrangements, and noir-like tension, the song unfolds like the soundtrack to an imaginary cult film.
Fronted by Susanne Pemmerl and led by Philippe Simon-Girard, PRISONER continue shaping a sound deeply inspired by the bold television and film scores of the 1960s and ’70s while pushing those influences into darker and more visceral territory. “La femme qui s’était faite toute seule” captures that balance between nostalgia and immediacy, creating a world where cinematic grandeur collides with the raw urgency of garage rock.
