The Australian band dives deeper into post-punk and glam textures with the third preview of their upcoming album
Pond unveil “Through The Heather”, the third preview from their upcoming album “Terrestrials”, set for release on June 19 through Mangovision. Born during a European tour and completed between hotel rooms, television reruns, and long van rides, the track blends melancholy, expansive textures, and a post-punk sensibility that continues shaping the band’s evolving sound. Filled with shimmering synths, spring reverb percussion, and reflective atmospheres, “Through The Heather” captures the emotional looseness and cinematic character driving this new era of Pond.
With “Terrestrials”, Pond embraces influences drawn from Australian 1980s aesthetics, glam rock, and post-punk acts such as Sisters Of Mercy and Magazine, stepping away from excessive distortion and more traditional psychedelic structures. Through songs exploring inequality, identity, landscape, and social collapse, the album delivers a melancholic yet hopeful portrait of modern life while the band continues expanding its creative universe ahead of a new US tour.
