Some conflicts, repeated often enough, begin to change the people trying to resolve them. On “Boogeyman”, Even Odds and vocalist Cas Jade take that tension into horror territory, pairing forceful guitars with images of fog, full moons, and nocturnal creatures. Released on October 2, 2026, the single combines alternative rock energy with a narrative in which fear takes on an almost physical presence.
Failed attempts at communication lead to a confrontation that seems impossible to set right. The boogeyman embodies what emerges as frustration builds and control begins to slip away. The image of an hourglass adds another layer of pressure: while the protagonists remain trapped in conflict, time keeps moving forward.
Raw Guitars for a Dark Story
Bringing together garage rock, grunge, and alternative rock, the collaboration relies on energetic instrumentation and a confrontational performance. Recorded at OCL Studios, with Josh Gwilliam handling engineering and mixing and Philip Shaw Bova mastering the track, the song maintains a defined sound without losing its rough edges. Its horror imagery makes it a natural fit for Halloween, while its energy also lends itself to contemporary rock playlists.
When the Hunter Becomes the Prey
The shifting roles at the heart of “Boogeyman” suggest that conflict can awaken parts of ourselves we would rather not recognize. Rather than presenting the monster as an external threat, Even Odds and Cas Jade turn it into an image of tension that grows when no one can break the cycle. The result transforms frustration into a direct, theatrical burst of dark rock.
