“Always”, the focus track from Before I Fall In Love, represents the brightest side of Sjana Rut’s new creative chapter. After exploring heartbreak and insecurity in earlier work, the Icelandic artist approaches falling in love from a different place: not as conflict, but as an energy capable of awakening something that seemed dormant. “You bring out a side of me that I didn’t know” captures that discovery of a new version of oneself revealed through connection.

Electricity runs through the song as a metaphor for desire. Fire, lightning, and the feeling of being brought back to life turn love into something physical and expansive. “You shot me back to life” introduces a restorative dimension, while “I love you in all your ways” expresses complete acceptance of another person. The repeated “I’m yours” and “always” provide emotional certainty, transforming surrender into celebration.

Electric Pop with an Eighties Spirit

Moving between electro pop, alt pop, and synthpop, “Always” draws from an unmistakably eighties-inspired aesthetic. Bright electric synths and thunderous hits reinforce the song’s lightning imagery while supporting its infectious melody.

“Always” captures the exhilaration of discovering that someone can bring movement back to a part of us we thought was lost. Rather than promising perfect love, it celebrates the freedom of feeling loved and expressing it without hesitation.
