ANA Release “Following the Wind” Music Video from Motivated By Death

The couture symphonic metal band captures the raw energy of their live performances during their recent Japan tour in a video directed by Aaron Mak.

ANA have released the music video for “Following the Wind”, filmed during their recent tour of Japan and directed by Aaron Mak. Moving away from the band’s highly stylized studio productions, the video focuses on the physical energy of their live performances and the relationship between the musicians and their audience, while also revealing moments from life on the road. Vocalist Anna Khristenko explains that ANA had long wanted to create a live video capable of capturing the particular energy shared between performers and crowd. Mak approached the project from the perspective of an audience member experiencing the shows night after night, combining performance footage with intimate offstage moments. The track appears on Motivated By Death, released May 29, 2026 via Eclipse Records, and the video marks the fourth visual release connected to the album.

The new visual expands the world of an album that combines symphonic metal’s orchestral scale with heavy rock riffs and ANA’s distinctive couture-inspired aesthetic. Led by Anna Khristenko, the band presents its members as masked super-humans, an identity reflected in the album artwork photographed by Peter Coulson. Produced by Khristenko and Josh Mak, Motivated By Death approaches mortality not through morbidity, but as a vital shadow that gives life its shape and can become a catalyst for creativity. “Shadow of Life” sits at the heart of the record, alongside tracks including “Hate Me” and “Papa”. Chris Themelco engineered and mixed the album at Monolith Studios, while Thomas “Plec” Johansson handled mastering. ANA are currently touring the United States with Danzig, Twin Temple and Burning Witches.
