Vuehateno – “Tell Me About Yourself” | Screamo and Metalcore for an uncomfortably honest answer

A question designed to produce a polished response becomes something entirely different here. “Tell Me About Yourself” takes one of the most familiar lines from a job interview and turns it into a provocation: what if, instead of presenting a professional and functional version of ourselves, we answered from the things that actually weigh on us? Vuehateno pushes into one of its heaviest sounds yet through that contradiction.

“Sitting here with my demons” captures the track’s central tension. Paranoia, exhaustion, visions and frustration return as states that cannot simply be dismissed by pretending they are not there. The song does not offer an immediate solution either; acknowledging their presence becomes its first act of honesty. Images of broken machines, illness and fever give the internal conflict a physical dimension, while sarcasm keeps the confession from becoming overly solemn.

Post-hardcore weight with an introspective atmosphere

Hard Rock, Screamo and Metalcore reconnect Jean-Philippe Roche with his post-hardcore roots, turning the emotional tension into something more visceral. At the same time, atmospheric influences associated with Cannons, The Midnight and Washed Out allow that intensity to retain a reflective quality. Rather than abandoning Vuehateno’s experimental identity, the track pushes it toward a more aggressive edge.

An interview question with no simple answer

“Tell me about yourself” usually asks people to select and organize the version of themselves they want others to see. Vuehateno uses that same mechanism to expose everything that cannot fit into a professional introduction: persistent thoughts, memories, insecurities and personal demons. The track works because it turns an ordinary formula into an opening toward an answer far more complicated than a single sentence.
