Nicolás Pomilio blends post-punk, synth-punk, EBM and ’80s darkwave with motorik rhythms, futuristic synths and raw guitars.
En otra dimensión turns darkness into movement. Across his fourth album as Sektor Voltage, Nicolás Pomilio builds an eight-track universe where motorik pulse, post-punk guitars, futuristic synthesizers and his cavernous voice meet electronic body music rhythms and references to the darker sounds of 1980s Germany. The record draws from the old-school Frankfurt scene and Belgian New Beat while translating those influences into a contemporary production firmly connected to the dancefloor. The first single, “IN DEN VERBORGENEN WÄLDERN” (“In the Hidden Forests”), captures much of this identity: its accompanying video follows Pomilio on a solitary journey through natural landscapes, contrasting the organic surroundings with the pulsing machinery of the music. The artist describes the album as a journey in which the soul slips beyond the visible and moves through astral realms, with the decision to return ultimately left to the listener.
Recorded by Pomilio on a Zoom R8 Portastudio, En otra dimensión develops the path Sektor Voltage began in 2020 through techno, New Beat, EBM and darkwave. Following Amor a mi negra lista (2023), Animal en extinción (2024) and Oscura noche del alma (2025), the project now places guitar at the center, combining its raw presence with electronic landscapes and drawing on influences including Kraftwerk, The Cure, Opéra de Nuit, Malaria!, X-Mal Deutschland and Siekiera. Drums and bass were programmed via MIDI, while Korg Volca FM and Microkorg synthesizers were played live; guitars and vocals were recorded in Ableton using Zoom R8 effects, with the final master also completed in Ableton. Through this meeting of machines, instruments and voice, Pomilio shapes a record where digital-industrial claustrophobia opens into another dimension.
