Cliff and Ivy Present “Angels Eyes”, a Goth Rock, Deathrock and Post-Punk Album from Alaska

The Anchorage duo blends rock-driven grit with mystical atmospheres and classic goth influences on their new album.

The landscape of Alaska runs through “Angels Eyes” as another texture within Cliff and Ivy’s new album, a record shaped by goth rock, deathrock, post-punk and elements of metal. Released August 7, 2026 through the duo’s own House of Extreme Darkness imprint, the album features ten tracks, plus an alternate version of “The Healer” available on digital and CD formats, revisiting the spirit of classic goth without becoming an exercise in nostalgia. “The Raven and The Wolf” and “Tidalwaves” evoke the atmosphere of cult-film soundtracks from the late 1980s, while “Kiss of Death” pushes deathrock into a darker, theatrical space. Elsewhere, “Propaganda” introduces political tension, while “The Healer” transforms grief into a gothic composition built around piano and heavy guitars.

At the center of this world are Cliff Livingston and Ivy Silence, musicians originally from New Jersey who have been making music together since the 1980s and settled in Anchorage in 1993, eventually forming Cliff and Ivy in 2011. Their work incorporates ideas of synesthesia, ritual magic and the Alaskan wilderness, alongside a DIY approach and a strong visual identity. For “Angels Eyes”, the duo worked with Paul Roessler on production, engineering, mixing and keyboards, while Tom Coyne —a member of 45 Grave and Kommunity FK— contributed drums, with Maor Appelbaum handling mastering. Chugging guitars, Ivy Silence’s commanding vocals and lyrics filled with imagery of shadow, transformation and resistance place the album within an expansive new stage for the project.
