Inspired by her twenties, the fourteen-track record explores depression, grief, generational trauma, identity, self-love, and the search for belonging, turning deeply personal stories into reflections that invite listeners to find their own meaning. Blending alternative pop, indie pop, afrobeat, and Latin influences, the Colombian-German artist creates a constantly evolving sonic landscape, while her background in film acting brings a cinematic dimension to the project’s visual and emotional storytelling.
More than a collection of songs, CICLOS establishes Kaya Q’s artistic vision by uniting music, imagery, and narrative into a single emotional experience. The focus track, “Abuela,” addresses generational trauma and the power of breaking inherited cycles, capturing the album’s central message of embracing vulnerability as a path toward growth.
