tinsel – “to you to me” | When Closeness Erases Distance

“to you to me” begins in a space where two people seem to stop perceiving themselves as separate entities. “I feel you speak in front of me” and “Now I see you and you see me” place reciprocity at the center of a song that understands intimacy through physical presence, attention, and mutual recognition. There is no linear story; instead, there is a suspended moment where looking at another person also seems to mean encountering oneself.

Images of ice, sticky hands, and bodies shifting from left to right add a tactile, unsettled quality. “No space, need no space” pushes that closeness to its limit: eliminating distance becomes an expression of desire, while “you’re everything that I need” concentrates the song’s emotional focus on the encounter. The darkness of the production keeps the connection from becoming simply romantic, preserving a sense of tension within the desire.

Dark Electronics for the Dancefloor

tinsel’s debut combines indie electronics, alternative dance, electroclash, stutter house, and indie dance with distorted guitars, synthesizers, acid elements, and a strong techno influence. Its dancefloor pulse meets industrial textures and an experimental sensibility, further developed in “to me to you,” a reworking that pushes the techno elements even further.

The Encounter as Shared Space

The song turns movement into language: seeing, listening, and getting closer happen simultaneously. That reciprocity makes “to you to me” feel less like a narrative and more like a physical experience. tinsel captures the moment when two people seem to need exactly the same kind of closeness.
