It means deciding who gets to build the next one. “We Are The Energy” turns a train into a sharp metaphor for exhausted routes and failing structures, imagining what happens when people stop waiting for instructions and take control of the machinery already carrying them. Its central idea is collective: frustration becomes useful once it becomes shared action.
“We’re making our own track now” captures that shift. The fuel runs out, the coal is spent, and the map is full of curves, but the deeper problem is not simply reaching the end of the line. It is questioning who designed the route in the first place. The song’s critique of inequality and concentrated power gains force through the contrast between hierarchy and those who “are joining our hands.” Transformation therefore does not depend on a single figure. Rock as momentum for changing direction

Rather than waiting for someone to provide a new route, the track argues for building one.
