SUR MER – “On the Shores of Massilia” | Riviera Indie for Slow Roads and Quiet Escape

Marseille becomes Massilia in SUR MER’s imagined Riviera, less a geographical destination than a place where the past can finally be left at a distance. Coastal roads, fading sunlight, old hotels, shaded courtyards, and a blue Italian motorcycle shape the track’s cinematic world. Yet the most revealing detail may be the simple admission, “I don’t have a plane to catch.” Without an obligation waiting at the other end, movement becomes freedom rather than necessity. The escape here is deliberately unhurried.

References to Shakespeare and Proust add another layer to the journey, while “I’m always ready to vanish” brings a trace of unease into an otherwise relaxed setting. Disappearing remains possible, but so does simply staying in the shade as evening arrives.
