David Howls – “Hooked” | Alt-rock caught between desire, dependency and self-destruction

Blood spilling from a mouth gives “Hooked” its first physical wound, but that image quickly expands into something more complicated: a relationship where words can hurt as much as actions. David Howls builds an emotionally restless alt-rock track around two people who seem fully aware of the damage they cause each other and still remain trapped in the same cycle. The song’s jumpy energy creates an almost buoyant motion against a story shaped by guilt, desire and self-destruction.
