Vahakn – Glasscutter | A journey between beauty and unease

Experimental electronic music becomes most compelling when it transforms listening into an act of exploration. On “Glasscutter”, Vahakn creates an immersive sonic journey that resists conventional structures and unfolds through a series of constant transformations. Released as the sixth entry in a collection designed for deep listening, the track moves between contemplation and tension, exploring a space where beauty and unease coexist within the same evolving landscape.

Rather than telling a traditional story, the composition builds its identity through contrast. Slovenian nuns’ chants and delicate bell tones emerge among shifting textures that gradually become denser, stranger and more unpredictable. As the piece progresses, familiar sounds dissolve into electronic pulses, fragmented rhythms and atmospheric layers that continuously reshape the listener’s sense of space and time. The result feels like moving through an environment that is always changing, revealing new details at every turn.

Sound exploration without clear boundaries

Musically, “Glasscutter” blends future garage, leftfield bass and IDM/glitch while incorporating touches of dubstep, drum & bass and hip-hop-inspired rhythmic structures. Yet the track’s defining characteristic lies in its sonic experimentation. Through digital manipulation, intricate textures and a cinematic approach to sound design, Vahakn creates a work that prioritises atmosphere, discovery and transformation over predictable songwriting formulas.

Built for immersive listening

One of the track’s greatest strengths is its ability to reward focused attention. Every transition introduces new textures and subtle details that continually reshape the experience. “Glasscutter” moves between mystery, tension, wonder and fascination while maintaining a strong sense of cohesion. By blending organic and synthetic elements with remarkable fluidity, Vahakn delivers a composition that turns sonic exploration into its primary form of expression.
