Pre-war Japanese folk samples, humid textures, and hypnotic rhythms turn “魂振 (Tamafuri)” into a deeply immersive experience where memory, spirituality, and sonic landscapes merge inside a ceremonial and spectral atmosphere. 幻野 (Genya) crafts a ritual techno and experimental electronic piece that transforms archival recordings into a dark contemplative space, moving away from superficial exoticism to explore a far more ancestral animistic and ghostly vision of Japanese culture.

The composition explores the relationship between cultural memory, spiritual presence, and the emotional resonance of the past within the present. Inspired by the Japanese aesthetics of shadows explored in In’ei Raisan, “Tamafuri” uses ancient folk recordings to build an experience where ritual and spectral presence constantly coexist. Genya transforms archival sounds, dub techno atmospheres, and hypnotic repetition into a contemplative journey shaped by mystery, strangeness, and an ongoing sense of intangible presence.
