The French artists blend hyperpop, chanson and electronic music into a song about emotional distance
Louise BSX and Sarah Maison join forces on “Distance & Promesse”, a collaboration that transforms post-breakup melancholy into an emotionally rich and danceable experience. Rather than focusing solely on sadness, the song explores the emotional distance that lingers after a separation, whether romantic or platonic, balancing intimacy with euphoric energy. Built around addictive melodies and organic electronic textures, the track celebrates resilience and the act of moving forward despite emotional fractures.
Produced and mixed by Louise BSX, the single expands both artists’ sonic universes by merging hyperpop, contemporary French chanson and alternative electronic music. The release is accompanied by a music video directed by Alice Michaud, who reimagines heartbreak through a fantasy-inspired forest setting influenced by folk horror aesthetics. “Distance & Promesse” also marks the beginning of a series of live collaborations, with their first joint performance scheduled for June 25 in Paris.
