The Danish band’s debut album arrives on digital platforms for the first time as Martin Ejlertsen’s final musical statement
Virak revisits Threads, their 2008 debut album, through a deeply meaningful reissue that transforms the record into both an artistic and emotional legacy. Available digitally for the first time, the album gains added significance following the passing of frontman, guitarist, and songwriter Martin Ejlertsen, who described the project as “my last musical project before my imminent death.”
Blending post-rock, slowcore, psychedelic indie rock, and seventies-inspired progressive rock, Threads captures a defining chapter in Ejlertsen’s creative journey. Tracks such as “Where It All Begins” stand out for their emotional depth and haunting atmosphere, while the album as a whole unfolds as an introspective collection that recalls the spirit of Radiohead, Mogwai, and The Smashing Pumpkins. More than a reissue, Threads stands as the enduring testament of a musician who chose to turn his farewell into a work that will continue to resonate long after he is gone.
