The Dahmers: “In the Dark”, un Refugio de Garage Rock y Melancolía  (Suecia)

English version

Han compartido escenario con The Hellacopters, The Hives, Against Me!, D-A-D, Viagra Boys y The Baboon Show, además de presentarse en festivales como Sweden Rock.

The Dahmers’ “In the Dark”: A Garage Rock Refuge in Melancholy (Sweden)

The band The Dahmers presents the single “In the Dark,” a track of garage rock, punk, horror rock, and dark indie, incorporating elements of psychedelic rock and a cinematic sonic aesthetic. Its theme explores alienation, sadness, and an almost mystical form of solitude.

Far from presenting darkness as something to be overcome, “In the Dark” inhabits it and turns it into a shared refuge. The lyrics express the feeling of not fitting into the world, of being “the weird ones,” “the out of step,” but also affirm a comforting truth: even in the dark, we are not alone. The song validates melancholy and turns it into a space for collective identification, especially for those who have learned to coexist with their inner demons.

The Dahmers were born in 2011 in Bromölla after a wild Halloween party, when four punks decided to form a garage band inspired by horror films, music, and DIY culture. Their debut Demons (2014) earned critical acclaim, and the band has since grown in popularity, particularly in the U.S., where they completed their first tour in 2024. They have shared stages with The Hellacopters, The Hives, Against Me!, D-A-D, Viagra Boys, and The Baboon Show, and have performed at major festivals including Sweden Rock.
