Lone Deer Laredo’s «Summer of Sorrow»: A Nordic Americana Ode to Lost Love (Finland)

The Finnish project Lone Deer Laredo presents the single «Summer of Sorrow,» the second release from their upcoming album Lone Deer Laredo Vol. 3, set to be released in October 2025. Produced in Nashville by Brad Jones (known for his work with Josh Rouse, Dolly Parton, and Rosco Gordon), the track blends Nordic Americana, folk, and pop-art.
The sound incorporates catchy choruses, classic instrumental arrangements, and road-trip nuances, evoking influences from The Zombies, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles, brought into the present with a Nordic touch. The song evokes nostalgia and lost love, recalling a «summer of sorrow» and the idyllic days left behind. The lyrics speak to the fleeting nature of time, fading loves, and the desire to relive past moments of love and connection.
Lone Deer Laredo is a Finnish folk duo, Paola Suhonen and Olli Happonen, blending classic songwriting with Nordic-Americana influences. Their ethereal, cinematic music explores love, solitude, and adventure, with acclaimed performances across Finland, Japan, Europe, and New York.
