El dúo artístico The Dream Eaters presenta el sencillo «Sacrifice», una pista que construye su personalidad dentro del espectro expresivo del indie rock. La canción ofrece una narrativa musical dinámica, con momentos inquietantes, profundos y oscuros, manteniendo siempre un carácter atractivo y pegadizo. Destaca especialmente el contraste entre su sonido y la narrativa lírica, que reflexiona sobre el anhelo de pertenecer y ser visto, incluso si esto significa perderse por completo en otra persona como sacrificio para escapar del dolor y la mediocridad.
Cabe destacar que esta canción fue escrita tras una proyección nocturna de Nosferatu de Robert Eggers y forma parte de su EP *»The Dream Eaters Quarterly Report: Q1/25″*, el primero de una serie planeada de cuatro EPs trimestrales. La producción se realizó en Toronto con la colaboración del vocalista y productor Jimmy Chauveau (The Strumbellas, Kadeema).

The Dream Eaters, formados por Elizabeth LeBaron de Calgary y Jake Zavracky de Boston, nacieron como «Jake y Elizabeth» en 2015. Se conocieron trabajando en un bar en el barrio de Gowanus, en Brooklyn, Nueva York, y comenzaron a grabar juntos, produciendo varios EP en la línea dreampop/shoegaze: «The Rush of Love», «It Came From Gowanus», «Gimme the Stars», «Too Much Sugar» y, finalmente, tras cambiar el nombre a The Dream Eaters, «Five Little Pills».
A principios de 2017, lanzaron su primer álbum, «We Are A Curse», que causó sensación en las listas de éxitos de la radio universitaria. El dúo realizó una extensa gira durante los tres años siguientes, lanzando su segundo LP, «Pagan Love», aclamado por la crítica, a finales de 2018.
En vísperas de la pandemia de COVID-19, la banda comenzó a desarrollar la idea de un espectáculo que incluía una peculiar colección de vídeos musicales de su propia creación. The Dream Eaters’ ‘Sacrifice’: A Haunting Indie Rock Meditation on Belonging.
The artistic duo The Dream Eaters releases their single «Sacrifice», a track that crafts its identity within the expressive spectrum of indie rock. The song delivers a dynamic musical narrative with unsettling, profound, and dark moments while maintaining an appealing and catchy character. The contrast between its sound and lyrical narrative stands out particularly, as it reflects on the longing to belong and be seen – even if it means completely losing oneself in another person as a sacrifice to escape pain and mediocrity.
Notably, this song was written after a nighttime screening of Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu and is part of their EP *»The Dream Eaters Quarterly Report: Q1/25″*, the first in a planned series of four quarterly EPs. The Dream Eaters – Elizabeth LeBaron of Calgary and Jake Zavracky of Boston – initially came into this world as “Jake and Elizabeth” in 2015. In early 2017 they released their first full-length, “We Are A Curse», making an impact on the college radio charts. The duo toured extensively throughout the next three years, releasing their critically acclaimed second LP “Pagan Love” in late 2018..
In the run-up to the Covid pandemic the band began developing an idea for a show that featured a bizarre collection of music videos of their own making. In September 2020 they dropped the first episode of «The Dream Eating Freakshow». Several more episodes followed throughout 2020 and 2021. In 2022, the band started consistenly producing videos of short and darkly comic songs, posting them to social media and accruing millions of views.
Throughout the first half of 2023 the band released several singles – «Atomic Queen», «Rot in Hell», «F**k My Skull» and «Night Terrors». In the second half of 2023 they will begin releasing an updated version of their show called «We Are The Dream Eaters». A short film in the same vein will be released in early 2024.
